Terms & Conditions – Clear Code Diagnostics
Last updated: 24/09/2025
By booking a service with Clear Code Diagnostics (“we”, “us”, “our”), you (“the customer”) agree to the following Terms & Conditions.
1. Services
-
We provide mobile vehicle diagnostics, health checks, battery testing/replacement, tyre fitting (where offered), and membership plans.
-
All bookings include a standard vehicle check-over: engine oil, fluids, battery test, tyres, brakes, suspension, steering, wipers, and a short road test.
-
Full servicing, MOTs, and major repairs are referred to trusted third-party garages. We are not responsible for the work, costs, or warranties of third parties.
2. Bookings & Payments
-
Bookings must be made and confirmed via our website, phone, or email.
-
A deposit may be required for jobs involving parts/consumables. Deposits are non-refundable once parts have been ordered.
-
Final payment is due upon completion of the service. Accepted methods: card, bank transfer, or cash.
-
Prices are published on our website and may be updated without prior notice.
-
Mileage charges apply beyond 8 miles (£1.20 per mile).
3. Membership Plans
-
Standard: £25/month (1 car, 1 check per month).
-
Multi-Car: £40/month (2 cars, 1 check each per month).
-
Minimum contract: 12 months. Early termination may result in the full balance being charged.
-
Booking Responsibility: It is solely the customer’s responsibility to book their monthly checks. Missed months cannot be carried forward, rescheduled, or refunded.
-
Memberships are non-transferable between vehicles unless agreed in writing.
4. Cancellations & Missed Appointments
-
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a £20 cancellation fee.
-
If we cannot carry out work due to unsafe conditions (e.g., no suitable space, unsafe vehicle, poor access), the callout may still be charged.
-
Membership health checks missed due to customer unavailability are forfeited.
5. Warranties & Liability
-
Diagnostic results are based on the condition of the vehicle at the time of testing. Faults may develop after the appointment — we are not liable for future issues.
-
Battery, tyre, or part warranties are provided by the manufacturer/supplier, not Clear Code Diagnostics.
-
We are not liable for breakdowns, recovery costs, or repairs after our visit.
-
Referrals to third-party garages are recommendations only. All responsibility for their work lies with them.
6. Environmental & Safety
-
We comply with all environmental regulations and use licensed waste carriers for oil, filters, batteries, and tyres.
-
Customers must provide a safe, legal area to work. Work will not be carried out on unsafe ground, public roads without permission, or in areas with safety risks.
-
Fluid Checks: Vehicles must be parked on level ground for accurate fluid readings. If the car is on a slope or uneven surface, results may be inaccurate. We may move the vehicle (with permission) or refuse to report fluid levels until a suitable area is provided. We accept no liability for inaccurate readings caused by uneven parking.
7. Insurance
-
Clear Code Diagnostics holds full public liability and road risk insurance.
-
Customers remain responsible for ensuring their vehicle is taxed, insured, and MOT-compliant at all times.
8. Limitation of Liability
-
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (e.g., missed work, travel delays, financial loss caused by vehicle faults).
-
Our maximum liability for any claim is limited to the value of the service provided.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved under UK courts.
