Service Description
Winter Safety Check Cold weather puts extra strain on your vehicle, especially the battery, lights, and visibility systems. The Winter Safety Check is a focused, seasonal check designed to catch common winter-related issues before they leave you stranded — without going as deep as a full Vehicle Health Check. I’ll come to you at home, work, or roadside and carry out the key checks that matter most during winter months. What’s included: • Battery health test (cold-start performance & charging check) • Check engine oil level • Check coolant level & antifreeze strength • Screen wash top-up (winter-grade if available) • Wiper blade condition check • Exterior light check (bulbs inspected, not replaced unless booked separately) • Tyre tread depth & visual condition check • Tyre pressures adjusted (weather permitting) What’s NOT included: • No full system diagnostic scan • No in-depth brake or suspension inspection • No road test • No fault finding or repairs If any issues are found, I’ll explain them clearly and advise whether further checks or repairs are recommended. ⸻ Who this is for • Drivers preparing for winter weather • Cars struggling to start in the cold • MOT season or long winter journeys • Anyone wanting peace of mind without a full inspection ⸻ Important This is a preventative winter check, not a replacement for a full Vehicle Health Check or diagnostic service. Cancellation Policy
By booking a service with Clear Code Diagnostics, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. Services We provide mobile vehicle diagnostics, inspections, battery testing/replacement (where applicable), coolant pressure testing, and vehicle health checks. All services are diagnostic and advisory only. We do not carry out MOTs, full servicing, or major mechanical repairs. Any third-party referrals are recommendations only, and we are not responsible for their work, costs, or warranties. Call-Out Fee & Payments The minimum call-out fee is the cost of the service booked and is non-refundable. This covers travel, time, equipment, and expertise and applies even if no fault is found, faults are intermittent, systems are dealer-locked, or diagnostics cannot be completed due to vehicle condition. Payment is due on completion. Deposits for parts are non-refundable once ordered. Mileage charges apply beyond 8 miles at £1.20 per mile (maximum radius 40 miles). Diagnostic Limitations Diagnostics depend on vehicle design, software access, and condition. Some systems may be inaccessible without dealer-level software, which may only be identified once equipment is connected. No guarantee is given that a fault code or definitive diagnosis will be found. The service is considered delivered regardless of outcome. Vehicle Condition We are not responsible for incomplete diagnostics caused by low battery voltage, immobilisers, aftermarket modifications, wiring faults, corrosion, water ingress, or previous repairs. Additional work or rebooking may be required at extra cost. Cancellations, Safety & Liability Cancellations within 24 hours, no-shows, or lack of access may be charged in full. Customers must provide a safe working area. Vehicles must be on level ground for accurate fluid readings; we may refuse to report fluid levels if conditions are unsuitable. We are not liable for future faults, breakdowns, losses, or decisions made based on our findings. Liability is limited to the value of the service provided. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
